Award winning artist Meg Walsh combines technical skills acquired through years of studio work with acute observation of nature. A passionate plein air painter, she can often be found along the C&O Canal and Potomac River or in the fields, coves, and marshes of Maryland's Eastern Shore. Meg says, "dealing with the challenges of rapidly changing light forces me to quickly focus on the essence of a scene. I like the sense of immediacy it lends to my landscapes."

She has been juried into several national painting competitions, including the plein air festivals in Wayne, PA, and Easton, MD, where she won an honorable mention in 2007.  She currently serves on the board of the Washington Society of Landscape Painters, a 40 member organization founded in 1913, one of the nation's oldest active artists associations.

Meg’s paintings can be found in the permanent collections of the National Institutes of Health, Georgetown University Hospital, and Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia.  Her painting “Belted Cows” was purchased by the Academy Art Museum in Easton, Maryland.
